FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aldec's VHDL & Verilog Training Eclipse Expectations

Henderson Nevada, March 20, 2001 -- Aldec, Inc., a leading supplier of HDL design entry and verification software for programmable logic devices, announced today that its VHDL & Verilog Training Program has expanded to more than twelve courses and 100 locations, making it one of the most comprehensive in the EDA industry.

Three years ago, Aldec began its training program to help its customers become more effective HDL designers. Aldec began by offering a $99.00 Introduction to VHDL Course. Customers expressed a need for more intensive training, so Aldec developed Intermediate and Advanced level VHDL courses, as well as adding lab exercises to its already existing Introductory Course. Last year, Verilog courses were added along with testbench training for both languages. Aldec now offers various levels of VHDL and Verilog courses along with testbench and synthesis courses. Although Aldec's popular Active-HDL tools are used in the course, engineers that use other tools benefit from the "vendor independent" approach that is taught throughout the course. Industry standard concepts are taught and tool issues are minimized.

"Customers appreciate that our courses are not tool or device dependent," stated Brent Wood, Training Manager at Aldec. "The training program is a separate business unit of Aldec, allowing a more relaxed learning environment. Engineers learn the concepts they need to be successful VHDL and Verilog designers, regardless of tools they use or the devices they design".

Another factor in the success of Aldec's training program has been convenience. Aldec offers public courses in 100 different locations throughout the U.S. While other training companies concentrate solely on the most prominent high-tech markets, Aldec offers classes in underserved areas such as Melbourne, FL; Tucson, AZ; Huntsville, AL; Mt. Laurel, NJ; Dayton, OH; Santa Rosa, CA; and Las Vegas, NV.

"Our program provides training in more locations than any other VHDL or Verilog training company," stated Jarek Kaczynski, Technical Training Manager. "I've personally taught classes in 20 states and 35 different cities, including some roads less traveled: Boise, ID; Springfield, OH; Waynesboro, VA; Fort Walton Beach, FL; Los Alamos, NM and Oklahoma City, OK."

Price
Aldec's commitment to providing value to its customers is reflected in its training program's price structure. The two-day Intermediate VHDL or Verilog class is 30-80% less than most competitors at a cost of only $599.00 per person. The 5-day on-site training course for up to 10 engineers costs only $12,000. A computer is provided for each engineer to use in the labs, and a VHDL or Verilog Reference Guide and Course Manual are given to each student.

Aldec's website provides clear and customizable schedule information (www.aldec.com). Additionally, the website has free learning materials and a form for engineers who don't know what course will meet their needs. Since Aldec offers public and private training, engineers have many choices. In fact, Aldec has added equipment and instructors that enable 4 separate classes per week. Aldec expects to teach over two thousand engineers this year alone.
